About Me

As most of you know my name is Chelsea Stevens, I'm 16 and a sophomore at Mark Morris High School in Longview, Wa. I'm currently an A/B student with a GPA of 3.7. I have two major interests in my life... photography and music.Both inspire me and many people believe that I have a gift in both areas. Right now I would like to tell you about my music!

I was 10!

Ya! I was ten but this is where my journey with music started. I was in fith grade and picked up a violin for the firs time. After playing only a couple months I was offered to play at the Kelso Train Station for a Christmas event through Link. Then somebody recommended me for the SW Washington Youth Symphony. After only playing for about five months I auditioned and became one of the first members to be accepted after playing for such a short time. Since then I branched outward and learned how to play the cello. One of my dreams is to go to school for music, and learn how to conduct.

Now I have a chance to go with my class to play on the Disneyland Stage! But I need your help!

Disneyland Here We Come!

Our Orchestra teacher, Lanette Shepherd, has put together an unforgettable adventure for us to go on this spring that will allow us to showcase our talents and accomplishments of the music program we have. The total cost I need to raise to attend this once in a lifetime event is $910... The price includes my ticket, hotels and food.

While we are there we will:

Attend a hands on clinic with a professor so we can see what its like to study music after High School.
Have a special medieval dinner where we will see a jousting tournament.
We will receive a hands on lesson in techniques regarding performing at a Performing Arts Workshop.
Taking time to explore California Adventure Park and Disneyland.
Watch the legendary fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle.
